Venous Ablations

Venous ablation is a minimally invasive technique used to help treat chronic venous insufficiency. The treatment sends bursts of radiofrequency or laser energy through a catheter; the resulting heat intentionally destroys vein wall tissues along the length of the vein.

Patients who have chronic venous insufficiency or large, symptomatic varicose veins are candidates for this procedure. Venous ablation relieves symptoms associated with venous insufficiency and painful varicose veins. This minimally invasive procedure can help to improve the appearance of the legs and has a low risk of side effects.
